What Aluminum Alloys Are Used in Marine Applications

Wrought Copper Nickel alloy , similar to C71500 with a more tightly controlled chemistry to limit all residuals as potential contaminants.  It has Good corrosion resistance to Salt water but will corrode quickly when Ammonia or Sulfides are present.


Some common applications for Copper Nickel include electronics and microwave condensers as well as Vacuum Electron Devices. It is also suitable for Brazing operations.


Copper Nickel C71580 (CuNi30MnFe) is a copper nickel alloy with limited additions of manganese and iron to increase the strength.
