Wieland Diversified is located in the western Massachusetts town of Monson. On June 1, 2011, Monson would be forever changed, as an EF-3 rated tornado tore through our town, changing the once picturesque landscape.
With winds reaching 160mph, a path that stretched 39 miles long and one half mile wide, Monson lost more than 100 homes and businesses that day.
We were fortunate, as Wieland Diversified sat just outside its path! While we sustained minimal damage to our building, our trees and landscaping were not so lucky.
Although downtown Main Street is a constant reminder of that day, our town has come a long way since the June 1st tornado. Most of the homes and businesses have been rebuilt, and trees are being replanted.
